About Me

I am a python developer with an interest in data engineering and automation. I build data pipelines, design datasets that help you to improve analytics and machine learning processes.

More and More

My name is Metin Senturk. I am a data analyst at Dime Community Bank in New York, USA.

I graduated from Bilkent University as an industrial engineer, and eventually grow more interested in data and software development. So I did my master's at Saint Peter's University in data science, where the core of industrial engineering concepts meets with computer science to solve business problems. Right now I teach at Saint Peter's University as an adjunct lecturer, and I try encouraging students not only with the theoretical understanding, but also to use technology at its fullest by enforcing the use of git, GitHub, and programming skills.

Can't say I am great at it but I sure try my best. Did you take any of my classes? I would love to hear your feedback!

So far I taught:

I consider programming as part of activities in my leisure time, but besides that, I like walking, hiking, biking, swimming, traveling, and spending time outdoors with friends and family. I think the meaning of life is either on a beach or at the top of a mountain somewhere wherever life leads you. So make those moments count!

Passion and the Future

The best thing that happened to this world is having open-source software, and the communities developed around it. Looking at the communities build around software like python, or pandas is such an inspiration. I hope to be the author of such software that has a community of thousands if not hundreds. Well, until then, I aim to contribute to open-source projects and build small projects of my own and try to give them back to you, the community!
